Top Hat Stencils - Crafty Purple Frog

 28th May,2021

Good Morning, today I am back with another blog about Crafty Purple Frog stencils and today we are using the Top Hat stencils.  There are 3 stencils that make the total image, the top hat, the hat band and dots.

But of course we don't have to use them in that way, the band for the hat is a seperate stencil so why not use them on their own to make a funky background, I have used neutral colours for mine but there is a whole rainbow of colour out there to be explored...go ahead and create.

Not only can we use the dots with the top hat but we can also use them alone to make a bright and vibrant background (I plan to team it with Party Mouse at some stage).

Remember I have only given a few options, but you could use the band and dot together, the dots as a single row, try an ombre effect with any of them for an awesome look. Don't forget to try different mediums like paste, embossing powders, maybe using the correct sandwich you will beable to get the to dry emboss through the machine of your choice.

I would love to see some of your ideas.

Happy Crafting

Bee Kind

 May 21st, 2021

Hi folks, Im back again with another crafty make using items from Crafty Purple Frog.

Today we have a quick and simple card using the bee from the Blooming Marvelous Stamp Set.

I used the largest Honeycomb stencil to form a back ground by blending with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink to get a lovely smooth and not too harsh blend of colour, I faded this out towards one side to give abit more texture and because I didn't want solid colour across the whole thing. I stamped out the bee and coloured using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers and to add some shimmer I embossed the wings with WOW! Clear Hologram Sparkle embossing powder.

I then chose my sentiment and stamped it out onto white card and cut ot out using the banner from Tag Along die set from Heffy Doodle and layered this onto black. I worked out my positioning and attached both the bee and sentiment on foam pads to my card. Using a black fine liner pen I drew in little lines to look like the bee had flown from sentiment to the otherside of the card.

Mushroom Stencil by Crafty Purple Frog

Hi everyone, I am back with a quick post today to show a couple of different ways to use the mushroom stencil by Crafty Purple Frog.

Ok then, I find the best way for me to get them lined up is to write on them, this way is saves me a bit of time fiddling about. I used Distress Oxide inks in Pumice Stone and Festive Berries to complete the mushroom...using the full mushroom cut out first with Pumice Stone and then aligning the other stencil over the top with the Festive Berries to get the whole Mushroom or toadstool.

Once you have that image you have the choice to leave it like that or add an outline using the small mushroom stamp from the Foxy Stamp Set, it is easy to line up using the stamp on an acyrlic block but if you go abit squiffy like I have on a few it really doesn't matter.

A fun way is to use the top of the mushroom in a yellow colour to make cheese and use it along side the Party Mouse Stamp Set which you will see me do in a upcoming post.

Thank you for reading.

Roses Are Like Friends

 May 7th, 2021

Hi all, I am back today with a gorgeous and classic looking card for you using the Blooming Marvelous Stamp Set by Crafty Purple

To start with I wanted a sparkley but not blingy look to this card and as I seem to be addicted to the WOW!Clear Hologram Sparkle Embossing Powder I opted for that. I used Sookwang heat resistant doubled sided tape and layed out stripes across my card base, removed the release paper and covered with the embossing powder and heat set it until the magic happend and I was left with sparkly stripes of goodness.

I then proceeded to stamp out the rose from the Blooming Marvelous Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it in using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend marker is the dark red blend. I stamped a couple of leaves and coloured them in the same way using the light green blend and then added a few highlights to the rose and leaves in a white gel pen.

Using foam pads or tape I popped up the rose and attached it to the bottom left hand corner of my card and placed the leaves behind it and secured in place with wet glue. I then picked out my sentiment, stamped it out and used the Stitched Nesting Dies from Stampin Up to cut out an elegant shape on white card, this didn't look right on its own so I added a layer of red card behing it to compliment the rose and stuck it flat to the card on the top right. To top the card off I used some bubbles from Little Things from Lucy's Cards.

Thank you for taking time out to read this post. Have a great weekend.
