Party Mouse

 April 29th, 2021

So we made it through to the last day of Crafty Purple Frog sneek peeks and here we are with the Party Mouse, another very enjoyable stamp set to use.

To start with I layered a C6 card blank with black card and then another white layer with I stamped the confetti elements of the Party Mouse stamp set in various colours of Versafine Clair ink, I used Warm Breeze, Purple Delight and Fantasia to give a fun and vibrant background. I then wents ahead and stamped the mouse, a party hat and various cupcakes, coloured them in using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends and added some highlights with a white gel pen to the hat. I then thought mmmmm frosting and went ahead and added embossing ink to the icing part with an embossing pen and then went ahead and used WOW! Hologram Sparkle embossing powder which gives a beautiful shimmer.

I found some dies in my stash that seemed to work with the card and cut a sizeable matt out of white card, I then went ahead and gently added a light blend of Scattered Straw Distress Oxide over the top, I went slightly darker on the outside to draw the eye in.  At that point I had made a party mouse song up in my head and was humming when it struck me the mouse should look like he is having a party too..so I cut round his little mousey paws/hands and inserted a small piece of cake, after all we all need cake on our birthday...right!

I then added the mouse to an action wobbler and foam pads to the cup cakes and added them to my card along with the sentiment have a mice day, which I just love.

I so hope you have enjoyed this sneek peek series I know I have. Watch out for more posts here and on social media in the coming weeks.

 April 28th, 2021

Here we are on Wednesday with a Foxy sneek peek using the Foxy stamp set from Crafty Purple Frog.

Off we go, I first used my cloud stencil from Inkylicious and Distress Oxide ink to blend over the background for a fluffy cloud effect. I then used the Grassy Lass Dies from Heffy Doodle to cut out some different layers of grass and I chose to do this in a couple of different colours to add abit more pop to the card. I then went ahead and stamped the fox, his attire, and mushrooms, I always stamp, colour and cut more than I need just incase I want to go mad or save them for another project.  I knew I wanted some dimension on the card so I placed all the bits on the card (I find this really helpful as I have stuck to many things down in the past only to find I have got it wrong)! once I decided on my layout I then added foam tape or pads to the back to get the require dimension I wanted.

This really was a fun card to put together and this card is perfect for a man however Mr Fox can also be a Foxy Lady! Hope you have fun when you get your set home.

HapBee Birthday

 27th April, 2021

Hello, as promised I am back again with another sneek peek from Crafty Purple Frog. This time I am using the Blooming Marvelous and Happy Birthday Everyone stamp sets along with the Hexagon layering stencil.

This time I used a standard C6 card base. Taking my blender brushes I used Distress Oxides in Carved Pumpkin, Fossilised Amber and Dried Marigold and layered up my stencils from biggest to smallest, you coud also do smallest to biggest too, I only blended over 2 thirds of the card and faded it out towards the top and bottom as I wanted a more muted effect. Once I had done this I stamped out the bee and rose and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers, I added some higlights to the rose with a white gel pen from my stash and they decided I wanted some leaves so I stamped and coloured 3 to add to the rose. After I coloured the bee covered him in VersaMark ink and the embossed twice with WOW! Clear Gloss Ultra High embossing powder. My bee cracked as I man handled him too much but I actually really like the look as it adds more texture.

I then grabbed my stamping platform and popped my card in and once I decided the rose was going in the bottom left of the card I placed the happy birthday stamps and inked them up and stamped a couple of times for a dark and crisp sentiment, I then placed the bee over the PY of happy and there we have a HapBee Birthday Card.

Thank you for joining me again today.

Photo Booth Birthday

 26th April, 2021

Well a very good crafty morning to you.

Today I bring you a sneek peek from the new release from Crafty Purple Frog, this is the second release from the lovely Amy and it is just super. I have had so much fun playing with them all, come back everyday this week to see more sneek peeks before the actual release on 30th April.

The moment I saw the hare and the glasses from the I'm All Ears stamp set I immediately thought of the photo booths you can hire for parties etc and off to work I went.  I started out with a slim line card and layered that with some black card and some patterned paper, I stamped out the hare 3 times in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and couloured him using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers. I then stamped out and coloured several of the glasses and also the cap, crown from the Spread Your Wings and the bow tie from The Sett stamp set and decided which hare I would dress with what...and then added glossy accents to the glasses to give the illusion of reflection.

Once I had sussed that out I cut out 9 polaroid frames in thin white card from My Favourite Things and then 3 in the colour of my choice for the top layer. I stuck 3 white frames together and then a top layer to give dimension with using foam tape - I find layering the card like this gives a sturdy card and good for posting.

I then spent some time layering all the piecs up on my card until I was happy, I then added the same patterened paper to the backs of each photo and stuck all the components together with a wet glue.

Hope you enjoyed this card and sneek peek. See you all again tomorrow for more.

Happy Crafting

Can I badger you for a cuppa sometime?

 9th April, 2021

Hi crafters, so I have been busy using the gorgeous The Sett stamps from Crafty Purple Frog. I can't get enough of this badger and the sentiment  "can I badger you for a cuppa sometime".

For this card I made about 4 masks of the badger so I was able to stamp him out several times without overstamping on my previous stamped images, I started at the bottom ane worked up my card stamoing in Versamark Ink and using WOW! Copper Embossing powder to make him stand out against my choce of craft card.  I then stamped and coloured a single badger using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Alchol Markers, cut round one of his paws and inserted a tea cup from the same stamp set.

I stamped out the sentiment and using my trimmer cut around it and layered it up onto a stamped piece of blue card and some more craft card...this made the step to hold the card in place when standing up.

To top the card off I decided that Mr Badger should really badger the recipient for a cuppa so I cut out 4 speech bubbles from the Heffy Doodle die set Whatcha Sayin and stamped "can I" from the main sentiment into each one...to do this I used a stamping platform and masked the words I did want from the sentiment when inking up in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

I hope you enjoyed this card, I certainly enjoyed making it.

Take care and stay crafty

Just Because

26th March 2021

Today I have a very quick and cheerful card for you using the first release from Crafty Purple Frog which I am currently addicted too.

I started but stamping some of the images from the Flowers and Berries stamp set in Versa Mark ink, this ink stays wet for a while and allows you to use embossing powders with it. For this card I used WOW! bright white embossing powder and went ahead and heat set the powder on my card layer.  After I did this I used Distress Oxide inks in colours of my choice, (I like bright colours so I chose Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Picked Rasberry) to blend over the embossed images with my blending brushes, once Iwas happy with my blend I gently rubbed over the top with a tissue, this takes the ink off the embossing and makes the images pop out.

I layered the piece onto black card, this seems to be my go to at the moment as it helps to draw your eye into the card.  I then selected two sentiments from the Just Because stamp set, stamped and layered them and attached them to my card. I went for Just Because and  I wanted to make you smile as I am sending the card to a friend who needs a little cheering up.

I hope you give this card a go, it was fun to make and could easily be replicated many times.

Take care and keep crafting

A Gift For You Part 2 - The Packaging

As promised I am back again to show you how I made this cute little box with belly band.

First off I picked a colour of card that compliments the cards I made yesterday, I decided to go with the yellow because it is cheerful and inviting. I cut this 11.5 x 6.25 inches. I stamped over the card with the largest sunflower from the Flowers and Berries set from CPF and then scored on the opposite side, I have marked the card in the photo below with measurements.

I then cut up the sides to form the tabs to enable me to put the box together. ***

Next step is to apply adhesive to all the tabs I have drawn squiggles on - the adhesive must go on the stamped side. I tend to gule 2 opposite tabs at the same time this way the box will form as you go along.

Now you will see how well your 4 cards and envelopes will fit into the box.

I have a small circle punch in my crafty stash and I used that to cut out a half circle from the lid of the box to make opening easier....***if you don't have a punch you could also use a small die but be sure to do this before you glue your box together***.

I then decided to add a belly band to the box closed and make it look pretty. To do this I cut a couple of strips of black card at 0.75 of an inch and joined them together. I wrapped them round the box snipped them to size and joined them up, I try to get the joins in the middle of the top and bottom of the band. To spruce them up abit I stamped a large sunflower on white card and coloured it in the same manner as I did in yesterday's blog post, I fussy cut it out and added a gold glitter card circle to the centre.  As I was looking through my ribbon draw I came across some thin yellow ribbon and thought that would add a cut touch to the box so I tied that round the belly band and added the sunflower in the middle..be sure to only attach this to the band otherwise you will have problems getting into your box. On a whim and last minute decison I popped a couple of gems on the band and used Wink of Stellar in the centres of all the sunflowers I stamped on the box.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post.

Stay Safe and keep Crafting.
